Help Bring Back the Alien-Hunting SETI Telescopes

The world’s only telescopes devoted to searching for aliens went dark two months ago because of a lack of funds. Now you can help bring them back.
This morning, SETI launched a website called SETIstars to try to gather funds to resurrect the Allen Telescope Array (ATA), which some astronomers call our greatest hope for finding ET.

Not Just Another New Year.

Hey folks hi,
Happy new year to all and most importantly to myself. After 3 years I think, celebrated the transition from 2010 to 2011 like a normal person. This year 2011 will hold a very important milestone in my life . This year I will finally become an Engineer, the dream that lots and lots of young minds of India have and I am no exception to the popular saying among students "Engineering ka Kida". The journey so far has been to say least,  BUMPY and here bumpy really means bumpy. From school to high school to finally the college, I think I have spend more time with books and studies than anything else, but now when I reflect back, I can say I am happy; if not satisfied of what I have done. This very difference between happy and satisfied is what keeps me going on in my life.
In particular these four years of engineering have been quite eventful, from 1 semester ragging to 7th semester exams and placements activity. I have grown up into a person which even by my standards is a big change, so as all my fellow classmates (I hope so). I am so lucky to have these wonderful people around me, and once I leave this college I'll surely miss them. But still there is 1 whole semester to go, no need to get too nostalgic right now. But I cant resist the temptation of putting my views about the placement thing going in my college. Its actually fun to see how my mates are serious about the jobs they will get. It's like its the only thing that's gonna be counted  to check if you have studied or have truly become an engineer. Even I want a job, but whether I want it now or later, is something I am still confused about. 1 thing I am sure about is, to study further, to study whole my life because the sense of achievement which I get when I solve some problem or get to know some new concept is just what can I say seducing and gives me a high. I just love studying interesting things.
Guys I just wanted to wish new year and say that just follow your dreams, just go that extra mile to achieve what you aspire because at least you will have some sense of achievement. As its said some where "shoot for the moon, then even if you fall, you will fall among the stars". Guys just dream big and believe in what you wanna do. Be stubborn , be impatient and be hungry, never ever be  content though. Years will come years will go, people will come people will go, jobs come they will also go :) , but what will remain with you whole of your life is your dream and your knowledge.
Keep dreaming guys and keep studying.

As Robert Frost said in his poem- stopping by the woods :-->

"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."

Some programming Jokes!!

1. Two ints and a float are in a bar. They spot an attractive double on her own.

The first int walks up to her. “Hey, baby”, he says, “my VM or yours”. She slaps him and he walks back dejected.

The second int walks over. “Hey, cute-stuff, can I lick your Bean?”. After a quick slapping, he too walks back.

The float then ambles over casually. “Were those two primitive types bothering you?”, he remarks.

“Yes. I’m so glad you’re here”, she says. “They just had no Class!”

The Indian monsoon!!

The monsoon is the most important factor in this agricultural based country,(some will argue about that point). It brings rain much awaited rain without which there will be danger of drought in the area which still depend upon rain gods.
Why I am talking about monsoon is because on the idiot box I saw news of heavy rains in some part of country which has created flood like situation but the place where I am right now that is capital of an Indian state Bihar, it like reverse of what's happening in the whole country. The clouds have made this place as a passage, just like a small local railway station where super express trains not even slow down a bit. It's so dame hot here, it seems like we will have drought if it doesn't rain in few days.
So to just keep myself happy about the monsoon rains, I am sharing some pic's of the monsoon rains with you guys. If anyone of you is feeling more or less same like what I am feeling, then I bet you'll enjoy this!!!!!!!!

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken

Hello folks how are you all doing?? Participating in Udbhav, visiting home or just relaxing at your place?? Today I’ll just talk about something to cheer you guys up, if I can. So lets start.

First of all I will ask a question to myself and all my fellow-mates-> Are the things like Success, Achievement, Glory, Happiness and Greatness absolute or relative??

If you have found the answer please let me know, Because I find these above mentioned “Things” pretty confusing and tricky. For Some one is very successful in his work, for some its not that worth mentioning and for some the work itself is useless. So it is very hard to define what success, achievement etc are. Isn’t it??

Let me take an example of surrounding near me, because I am not that great thinker. I’ll prefer to go with situation me and my fellow-mates are in. I seriously think that my mates(you guys) belong to the most underrated creatures in this universe, no offenses. They burn their assess everyday day and night, non-stop but at the end what they get is a big “ZERO”. What say people. It takes a shit out off everyone. But we stand their taking every bomb that comes our way. So aren’t we successful? Aren’t we achieving glory?? Some guys will say what a lame question is that, we aren’t getting marks but still believing that we are achievers huh?? Think a bit my friends that’s what I am talking about guys to ponder upon. Let people say that we are not getting any marks, we are useless, we don’t do or know anything. Just say two words to all those people and you guys know what words I am talking about.

What say guys are you ready for this or not. Let face whatever we get in our way we accept it with a happy and carefree mind and soul.

It’s said somewhere We are the master of our own mind, We the captain of our souls. So why let other (mostly sadist) people master our mind and captain our soul. I can bet that after 15-20 years, all of us will be doing great in our lives, some people will own their own companies, some people will have influential post wherever they will work, some guys will do some unorthodox work and will succeed in it, some will be big entrepreneurs , some will be just out of their league but most important of all we all must be happy. But for this we all have to change our definition of success, achievement, Happiness and glory. Let other say or think whatever they want, Just have patience mates. Patience is a very cool thing to have. If you have it noting can bother you. What if we don’t get good marks as other people, what if we are not as smarter, taller and stronger just as the TV adds promise that we will be(pun intended). Believe in yourself, get knowledge, know how things work, know why we are doing engineering. One we are clear in this, then there these worries about all these marks and other stuff won’t bother you, and let me add one thing more I believe that these grades which are given here aren’t going to matter a lot( no offense to toppers).

So guys cutting long thing short just know who you are and what you want to do in your life. Give a dam to other things. As someone once said Marks and Grades are always overrated in our so called civil society, I seriously believe these grading things just take us back to the cave man age where who soever killed the most or hunted the most was a hero, and those who planned the hunt, made the cave and lit the fire where just some XYZ person.

Today only I read in the newspaper that APJ Abdul Kalam said exams results are not ultimate in our life. But the knowledge is. If the most intelligent man of our country says this, it carry some weightage.

“While we may not be able to control all that happens to us, we can control what happens inside us.”
— Benjamin Franklin

So here are some of my random thoughts. Please guys put a feedback if you can.

P.S: For this we need to be united as a class, we should help each other. It’s high time for us to take some decisions about our conditions, of plans for future and what we want in life. We need to trust each other in the class, we should be there for each other. We should have a feeling of- we belong to everyone and everyone belong to us, we should help each other in no matter what situation we are in . We should make our class a true democracy. As its said Rome was not build in a day. We should not care about pity issues and thing about helping each other reach his/her dream, and lastly we should all work hard.

Cya guys/gals

!!PEACE!!
